Scott Schraml has a lot to say about smoothies, but his personal story speaks for itself. He entered his first triathlon 30 pounds overweight without even knowing how to swim!

Since then, Schraml has participated in four Ironman races and made it his goal to teach others the joys of healthy eating.

And who wouldn’t want to treat themselves to unique concoctions such as the Mo[Ka]Jo, a blend of semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa, coffee, banana, frozen yogurt and non-fat milk or Banana Bread complete with walnuts, whey protein and a signature spice blend?

Whether it’s fruity or a little bit more substantial, Mojo Bowl has a smoothie for every craving, including a new bacon-flavored smoothie called the Bacon Monkey that customers are raving about!

Add-ons like whey protein, blueberries (dirty), chocolate (extra dirty) and almond milk can be mixed in with your smoothie for an extra boost. In addition to smoothies, Schraml sells soup, salads and Greek yogurt parfaits.

My personal favorite is the PB&J smoothie. Who could go wrong with a heaping portion of peanut butter, wild blueberries, berry juice, banana, and non-fat frozen yogurt? But the Green Monster gives it a run for its money. Schraml has created a line of “super smoothies” for customers with healthy veggies like spinach, beets and carrots and everything can be made sans frozen yogurt if necessary.

Whatever you decide, you can always expect great quality and service for a reasonable price at Mojo Bowl. I make sure to stop by for a post-workout boost or just when I have a craving for something sweet. Look for the big yellow truck next time you are visiting the food trucks!
